Perpignan is the capital of department 66, Pyrenées Orientales, which sits in the Roussillon region.

Perfectly located on the Spanish border, on the Mediterranean, at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains in the French part of Catalonia which stretches as far south as Barcelona, the area is served by several airports, the high speed train TGV and an excellent motorway network.

Airports

There are several airports within 3 hours drive of any of our properties. They are listed below along with the airlines serving the airports

There is a shuttle service from Gerona airport to Perpignan railway station called the Frogbus and buses run from Perpignan airport to Perpignan railway station.

There is a reasonably priced rail link to the area using Eurostar.

Motorways

Many motorways in France are subject to tolls.  However there are some motorways that are free to use and motorways are free around major towns and cities.

From the North, there are basically three routes to Perpignan

  • West : passing by Le Mans, Tours, Bordeaux, Toulouse
  • East : passing by Reims, Dijon, Lyon, Montpellier
  • Center : passing by Orléans, Clermont Ferrand, Beziers

Getting around the area by train or bus couldn't be easier, all local fares are set at the incredibly low price of €1.
