La Bergerie - Eus

A Blissful Escape from Life Inside the M25

After leaving the trunk roads behind, we drove for 20-30 minutes on deserted roads, through pretty countryside to find La Bergerie nestling invitingly into the hillside below the outstanding medieval village of Eus.

On entering, we were charmed by the rustic interior with exposed stone walls, beams and tiled floors. The location and the barn together immediately creating a feeling of ease and relaxation that simply got stronger day by day. The new kitchen had everything we needed, granite work tops, island, induction hobs, large fridge freezer.  The open plan dining made for informality and togetherness. Beds were extremely comfortable and the showers had great pressure.  New master en suite bathroom is huge, double ended bath, walk in shower beams and exôsed stone walls, real luxury.

We loved having supper outside on the pool terrace with the lights of the village twinkling above us. Later, we lolled on squashy sofas and relished the luxury of being able to watch our favourite programmes on the full English TV service. What with that and the internet, it was all gain and no pain.

La Bergerie is perfectly placed for outings. More very interesting places than we could visit in two weeks,  mostly within an hour's easy drive, and as before through traffic free beautiful scenery. I should not fail to mention the fantastic SuperU supermarket only a 10 minute drive away with absolutely every requirement catered for, including fresh French deli.

We didn't want to leave and can't wait to return.

Mas Rouby - Joch

We stayed at Mas Rouby during the new year with family and had a great stay. The house is equipped with everything you need to make your holiday comfortable, and enjoyable. The beds are comfy the duvets are snug, the kitchen has everything you'd need and the lounge with the soft lighting and wood burner makes for a very cozy environment in which to relax with friends of family. The surrounding area is beautiful, with snow capped mountains in the distance and plenty of walks and hikes nearby. Some of us drove up to Les Angles ski resort for the day which is just over and hour drive. Highly recommended! Thanks.

Villa Lavande - Clara

We had a wonderful stay here for my 50th birthday and I don't think we could have found anywhere better!! The house is set in the stunning location of Clara, in the foothills of Pic Du Canigou but only a short journey to the nearest town of Prades. The house is very spacious with a huge lounge with comfortable sofas. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and very clean. We enjoyed cooking every evening. When we arrived there was a generous welcome pack of goodies waiting for us, much appreciated. All the bedrooms are large, with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms, plenty of hot water. I miss opening the shutters to see the mountains, what a view to wake up to each day! The children managed to use the pool for a couple of days even at the end of Otober! The garden is beautiful and still so colourful. We enjoyed sitting in the sunshine listening to the church bells, sipping a coffee in the mornings. There is plenty to do in the area, a must is a trip to Gorges de Caranca, stunning! For my birthday we hiked up Pic du Canigou. Book a place on a 4x4 which takes you along a hair raising mountain road before a 2-3 hour hike to the top. Other highlights were Villefranche de Conflent and Fort Liberia, Abbey St Martin, Casteil Animal Park and the Yellow Train. We also enjoyed a number of hikes straight from the villas front door. Julie was most helpful both before our trip, with my numerous questions and whilst we were away, when I wanted her advice. Paul the gardener was lovely too. I cannot fault this villa and thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We would all love to return again one day!!

Villa Catalina - Vinça

Catalina was a perfect base for our relaxing holiday. The villa is well appointed with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. The living room is beautiful, we especially loved the stained glass window and the fire. The rooms are all well laid out with comfortable beds. The terrace is perfect for sitting out morning and evening and the hammock was great for enjoying the peace or watching the stars after dark. It is not far from Eus, Villefranche, or Prades. We also visited the thermal baths and local markets. A very lovely place to stay.

Thanks for organising our great stay at Catalina. It was just what we all needed. It is a beautiful villa and we really appreciated your suggestion about the wine evening too.

Garden Studio Mimosa

We spent a wonderful week in late October at Mimosa apartment within Maison Glycines in Clara. Our hosts Ann and Trevor could not have made us more welcome and the attention to detail in the design and fitments of the studio is superb. This studio is so spacious and well designed it feels like home from home. The kitchen is superbly fitted out. We particularly enjoyed sitting out on the sun drenched terrace next to the studio where there was complete privacy. We had access through the owner’s woodland at the rear of the property up to a great selection of walking paths from which we enjoyed fabulous views of the mountain scenery. A short drive to the coast allowed us to discover the delights of small fishing villages such as Collioure. We can not recommend Mimosa studio more it is a perfect location to explore this beautiful area of the Pyrenees.

Maison du Paradis, Vernet les Bains

Wonderful holiday!

We, three adults and one toddler, had a wonderful holiday in this excellent house. It was spotlessly clean, had very comfortable beds and a really well kitted out kitchen. Ideally located in town centre, so close to all amenities. Walking was fabulous on well marked routes, plenty of maps etc were provided by house owner. Little cafes on the square served our needs as did the excellent grocer and bakeries. Supermarket on edge of town was more than adequate and is within walking distance of house. I think it would be perfectly possible not to hire a car, especially if the main theme of holiday was walking. Special word of thanks to Julie who made booking the holiday a breeze. She is very helpful and friendly and I know if needed in an emergency she would be quick to respond. I Wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maison du Paradis and it's stunningly beautiful location!!

L'Oiseau Chantant - Fuilla

Lovely comfortable & well-equipped villa in perfect position

We've just returned from a great family week here and we loved the house, the views and the area. Fuilla is an easy drive from Perpignan airport, and there are good shops a short car ride away. Julie, the house manager, lives nearby, and is more than helpful. The ages of our party ranged from 4 months up, and the house very comfortably accommodates 10. It offered everything we needed for a wonderful relaxing stay, with an outdoor grill area enabling some great barbecues on the warmer evenings and served on the well furnished outdoor terrace overlooking the pool with its glorious mountain backdrop; well-equipped for fun meals inside too. Lots to do: games, books, boules anyone?! Plus good music and tv options in front of the log fire on a cooler evening. We had 2 small babies with us, so didn't explore the many enticing walking options on the doorstep, or have time to take a ride on the Yellow train. Next time!

L'Oiseau Chantant - Fuilla

Wow! What a house. The accommodation centred upon the kitchen and dining area, with the spacious lounge adjacent. The garden was an adventure in itself, with the pool and 'lazing' areas accessibly located. As someone else has commented, the pool was 'rather cool', but even a wuss like me could enjoy a swim in September. The lizards were highly amusing, as was what I think was an elderly/inebriated mantis. As my wife and daughter both suffer from trapped nerves in the spine, my walking around the village was of the solo nature but there are roads, tracks and paths that may be explored. However, for me, the best thing was the scenery. We have stayed in the Tet Valley three times previously but Fuilla is in a class of it's own, with views of the mountains and wooded hills that are unsurpassed. Shopping for necessities at Prades was easy whilst a number of visits to Villefranche permitted us to purchase the usual souvenirs, which delighted both our party and our grandchildren. Great place to stay and we had the genuine pleasure of meeting Julie and her husband in person, rather that merely communicating via the Internet.

Maison Anis

Great villa in great location

We stayed here in August 17. Very spacious and full of things to do; puzzles, DVDs, books, table football. Very homely and well equipped kitchen. Gardens large and great for relaxing. Brilliant swimming pool with many inflatables for children. In Vinca, lake area was superb - great for open water swimming- and lake beach cafe was good. Vinca is well located for both Mediterranean beaches (45 mins) and the Pyrenees. Lots of towns and villages to explore nearby.
— Steve Boughton, Cheltenham, 17 Sep 2017
Julies house is lovely. It has a terrace overlooking the rooftops with views of the mountains and the Church tower. It is in the center of a quiet, sometimes lively town with families and children spending time together. The house is stocked with everything you need for a stay. It is lovely to be in the center of town and to experience the locals relaxed way of life. It is a very friendly town. — Tracey Smith, West Yorkshire, U.K., 15 Sep 2017
Sol y Ben, Corbère le Château

Lovely village

Corbere is a really pretty village with good restaurants - Le Courtalet is excellent. Freshly cooked French food and lovely owners. The house is really practical and peaceful. It has everything you need and a lovely roof terrace with views of the Pyrenees hills. Vinca lake for swimming is a ten minute drive and stunning beaches about 40/50 minutes drive. Would definitely return to this house and location in the future.

Mas de l'éveque, Prades

We had a lovely stay at this farmhouse. The location was useful for being a walking distance from the supermarket and Prades Town centre. Had a great adventure place literally a couple of minutes drive away. Also very close to a gorgeous little town called Eus. The pool was a great size and beach towels were also provided. Set amongst the mountains either side, the views are great as well.

Villa Mathilde - Bouleternère

Parfait !

Great place for family outdoor holidaying with great mountain views!

We spent a week at Villa des Mines. The apartment is spacious and in a quiet location. The most amazing thing is the terrace with wonderful views of the village and the mountains. Great location for medium mountain walking. Neighbours were friendly and we enjoyed Vernet les Bains. It is a great base for exploring the surrounding area and may come back without the car as transport is great.
— Cathy Tong - Herts, UK, 03 Sep 2017

La Bergerie - Eus

One is always slightly anxious when arriving at a house, that the description of any property and photos might somehow not measure up to the listing or expectation. Nothing could be further from the truth here.... Superb house, great location, amazing hospitality- everything was there from a perfectly and amazingly resourced kitchen to fantastic and well-maintained pool. House was spacious, clean, and was a great place all round. Would definitely go again!

Villa Catalina - Vinça

Loved it, perfect in many ways

Visited with our family of four and 2 sets of 2 friends arrived. Suited all of us perfectly. Pool was great and we had many hours of use there, very well maintained. Villa was lovely, very spacious and spotlessly clean. Isolated from the world it seemed but right 'in the thick of it' neighbours either side but you would never know! Walked into town and it had all you need, a couple of bars, pizza place, shops etc and driving distance from good locations locally. Eus was lovely to see and very beautiful. Good aerial adventure place 10 minutes away in Marquixannes, for young to old. Great lake in the village with things to do. Cannot recommend the area or the villa enough. Definitely hope to return, Agent and pool guy were extremely professional and efficient which made the whole stay easy and enjoyable.

Really comfortable large home in a quiet village location surrounded by vineyards and away from the typical tourist areas. We enjoyed the fact that beaches and other areas of interest were still relatively close by. Julie was very helpful. Thanks for an enjoyable week.

Maison du Cerise - Vinca

We loved the area. There is so much to do and explore. The buses and trains are fantastic and so easy to use. We found everything we needed in the house to make our stay comfortable. The house provides everything from a washing machine, great Wi-Fi etc to beach toys for the children. The roof terrace is brilliant for chilling out. Definitely worth a visit. Thank you Julie.

Villa Clara, Clara near Prades

A fabulous fortnight!

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Villa Clara and have to say that it's one of the nicest villas we've had in the last few years. The villa is bright and spacious and very well equipped, especially the kitchen which has everything you could possibly need on a holiday! There's lots of information and maps of the local area too. The four of us (2 adults and 2 teens) had more than enough room and we were impressed with the cleanliness and the quality of the furnishings etc. The pool is a good size and we made good use of it too - the weather was great the whole stay (give or take a couple of heavy storms!). There are neighbouring villas either side but the villa isn't overlooked and it's very peaceful. The villa is set down a narrow road just outside a small village (Clara) about 10 mins drive up the hill from Prades. There's very little to see/do in the village itself but it has the most amazing restaurant that you really MUST visit - the food was incredible! Prades is a lovely little town and the surrounding area has some of the most beautiful villages in France all within easy reach. Perpignan is only a little further (approx 45 mins drive) but well worth a visit or two and the towns and beaches around Port Vendres and Collioure etc are also well worth the trip. All in all we had a great holiday and can thoroughly recommend Villa Clara.

Villa Chez Soleil - Vernet les Bains

Lovely villa, ideal for families.

Ten of us, six adults and four children, spent two weeks from the end of July in Chez Soleil. The property was spacious and comfortable with five bedrooms, three bathrooms (and another separate toilet) a large lounge, very large dining room opening out onto the patio with enough patio furniture to seat us all and another large outside dining set. There was plenty of room so we didn't get under each other's feet and was well suited to our family. We particularly enjoyed the lovely outside area and heated pool (which has safety fencing) and we were in and out of it most of the day, especially the children. The house is well equipped and outside there are two BBQs, a gas one, and a traditional built in charcoal one where we did most of our cooking. And despite there being a very big indoor dining table we ate outside for most of the time as the weather was glorious. The children, whose ages ranged from two to eight, loved the different little spaces up in the play area and it was well situated for adults to keep an eye on them. There was also a box of toys, games and lots of videos and towels to use in the pool area. The layout of the inside and outside space is unusual but we felt very comfortable and secure as a family. The property is accessible by electric gates and the doors and windows have either electric or wooden shutters. We had visited the area two years ago and although we had been to some of the attractions before, we still went back to the caves and the walled town of Villefranche de Conflent but this time we also visited Lake Vinca, where there is a water assault-type course which the dads and the two oldest children enjoyed, and the pretty seaside town of Banyuls sur Mer. Vernet Les Bains is an attractive little town with some very nice restaurants and most days one or more of us went to the boulangerie for bread and croissants and we also used the fresh produce of the market on market days. The centre of the town was within easy walking distance of the house. We all had a great holiday and hope to use the villa again.

On s'y sent bien !

La Bergerie is a super property, with fantastic views up to Eus and across to Canigou. The property is extremely spacious (something the photos do not show particularly well) and the new kitched superbly stocked with equipment. The outdoor terrace and pool are fantastic. Prades is a great town to have only 3 miles away, catering for everything we needed and the Super U as well as the town market on Saturday and Tuesday meant we ate really well. We had a great time exploring the landscape and culture of the valley and would return. Julie and her husband were very helpful when we needed help with a doctor and also with a lost key. Thoroughly recommended.

Vernet-les-bains is a great location for exploring the hills around Canigou and Mount Canigou itself. It was great to stay in Julie's place and have such easy access to the market (literally on the front door step). The house itself is very practical: nice open layout on the ground floor, well-equipped kitchen, great to be able to sit outside the back in the evening and good to have two bathrooms. All in all an excellent place to stay

Villa Lavande - Clara

This is a beautiful place to stay - the scenery is breathtaking and the house has every imaginable comfort. Great kitchen for cooking, very well equipped. Beds were comfortable and the showers excellent. Although you are up in the mountains at Villa Lavande, it's just a 10-15 minute drive to Prades, which has plenty of shops and restaurants. Julie was an excellent host, communication was clear and prompt, and checking in and out was a breeze. Can't wait to return!”

The location is amazing!!

The house is located on one side of the town square, just few steps from all the stores, restaurants and bank, in the back of the house the view it's an inspiration, Julie was very helpful an ready to answer any questions we had, she found us a nice maid to clean the house at our request in the middle of our stay there, the owner with a welcoming note left for us a nice bottle of red wine, a nice touch!

Maison Portal de la Força - Joch

Gorgeous house in stunning location

The house is beautifully restored, well-equipped and was spotless when we arrived. Joch is a quiet village up on a hillside, the views are stunning and the house has everything you might need; you can actually do proper cooking here. It's well located for access to Perpignan (about 40 minutes' drive), the beaches (about an hour) and the mountains (about an hour to Mont-Louis). There are some very pretty villages and chateaux nearby, as well as large supermarkets in Prades and Ille-sur-Tet. We stayed a week and there's still lots we'd like to see and do in the area. Probably the nicest holiday house we've ever stayed in too.

Mas Rouby - Joch

We were two families with 5 kids who stayed at the wonderful house in Mas Ruby. The house truly lived up to our high expectations and all rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and garden with pool all held a very good standard. The house served as an excellent base for exploring the beautiful surroundings from the moutains down to the beaches. Enjoying both these elements I believe is key to really enjoy the location. All in all we can really recommend a stay in this fabulous house

The house is beautifully situated, in a quiet village, surrounded by mountains and close to the fortified town of Villefranche de Conflent. The house was clean and comfortable and with plenty of space for a large family. The pool is a very good size and set up with an alarm for safety. Julie was very helpful before and during our trip. We highly recommend it.

Villa Clara - near Prades

We stayed at the house with 6 adults and a toddler. It was very spacious and offered all the comfort we needed, and the pool was just great! Clara itself is the perfect spot to relax and find peace and quiet. It's a 10 minute drive from Prades, a bigger town where you find shops, restaurants a market,... The scenery in the region is wonderful with lovely views off the peaks. Julie was a perfect host. All communication with her went very smooth. One night we had a problem with the car and Julie and her husband drove to our house in the middle of the night to come and help. I can't thank them enough for that! I would definitely recommend the house!

Maison Belle Vue - Vernet les Bains

Wonderful views

The location of the house is very good for a French village experience. Throughout our stay we enjoyed the views and proximity to the village square. The supermarket & swimmimng pool were only a very short drive and both had good opening hours. We enjoyed some runs and hikes directly from the house and other activities that were only a short drive away.

Apartment - Les Acacias

Great apartment in stunning location, just like its picture!!

This is a superb apartment, the best we have been in. it's modern and bright with plenty of space. There are so many extra things provided by the thoughtful owners who we actually had the pleasure of meeting at the end of our stay. Nothing is too much trouble - we managed to leave something behind and Trevor very kindly posted it back to us.The grounds are lovely and the pool is brilliant. We were lucky as we had very hot weather every day. Shame there isn't an eatery nearby - there is a restaurant but it was quite expensive and didn't cater for vegetarians (me). Recommend the train from Prades to Perpignan, only costs one euro each way. The beach at Argelès is great and about an hour or so away. Will definitely book this apartment again.

Lounge with plenty of comfy seating and a flat screen tv! Bedrooms are very spacious with lots of drawer and hanging space. In all a superb villa for a beautiful area of France with every possible excursion within easy reach.

Villa Lavande - Clara

Beautiful house in tranquil surroundings!

Stayed here in June. The house is very impressive as you pull up the drive and the interior does not disappoint. The drive is a bit steep and slightly angled so take care as you arrive. However, once you are in there is no reason to leave as every home and holiday comfort is catered for. All rooms are spacious and well appointed. There is plenty of space around the large pool for sunbathing and additional spaces for outside dining. The village of Clara is very quite and lovely for walks into the mountains behind. The town of Prades is a short drive away and the market on Tuesday is well worth a visit. The town also has a very large supermarket handy for stocking up for the week.

La Bergerie is a wonderful, spacious property in a good location. We rent a large house in France every year, and sometimes the space can be a little cramped or compromised. We had no such issues here. The dining room easily seats 10-12, and the stylish, well-equipped new kitchen is large enough for several people to cook together. There are three triple sofas in the enormous lounge area and there's a good size pool and outside space too. Julie was helpful and quick to respond to our enquiries. We'd recommend to groups of friends or families

La Bergerie - Eus

Worth every penny!

Everything about this property was just right. The rooms are spacious, the layout superb. The pool was a godsend considering the temperatures we experienced. The views towards the village and the countryside never failed to impress. Overall an excellent holiday that I would wholeheartedly recommended to anyone.

Villa Lavande - Clara

Stunning Property, stunning views

We stayed at Villa Lavande with friends for a weeks holiday. As soon as we walked into the house we were delighted with our choice. It was immaculate and very tastefully decorated throughout, each bedroom having its own ensuite. There was ample crockery, glasses and utensils which made cooking meals for large numbers of people very easy and we could enjoy them either indoors or outdoors on the patio. The pool house was a great addition as it is a fully contained extra apartment. Really relaxing place to stay, we will definitely book again.

Villa l'oiseau chantant

An excellent place to spend a holiday

Just spent the week with four friends at 'L'Oiseau Chantant' - an exquisite property with spacious rooms, very tastefully furnished, a well-equipped kitchen with all modern amenities, two big terraces and a big yard with a huge cherry tree with abundant and very delicious cherries free for the picking, a fair-size swimming pool to cool off in after a day's walking in the Pyrénées. However, I can imagine it's a cosy place in other seasons as well, as there is a fireplace and several sofas in the lounge to relax in. Also, a TV/DVD player with selection of DVDs - a wonderful way to spend a holiday! Lots of places to visit nearby and not far from sea or mountains.

Easy to see where the name of the house "Maison Belle Vue" comes from. Absolutely magnificent and local villagers are so friendly. We have felt very at home here and are finding it hard to leave. Bonjour et Merci.

La Bergerie - Eus

We enjoy staying at La Bergerie so much we keep going back. It has a great position, good amenities, fabulous views and so many places to visit. Everything is comfortable and the upstairs is split up in such a way as to allow different families to have their own areas. We were the first to test run the new kitchen and master bathroom, which were excellent and hitch free. The weather was even warm enough to use the pool.

Maison du Paradis - Vernet-les-Bains

The house is very comfortable, well furnished with everything we needed. The terrace is lovely, shady in the morning and we enjoyed breakfast there. It's definitely in the midst of the main town square but noise is not a problem & it's fun to be able to go just across the square for a coffee or an aperitif. Vernet is pleasant and there are many interesting day trips.”

We had a lovely time, the house is comfortable, nicely furnished, everything we needed and such a nice terrace - two! - to enjoy for breakfast and at the end of the day.”

Villa L'oiseau Chantant

Very good stay at Julie's place, the house is big, with all the furniture and appliances you may need for a group of 12. Having 4 bathrooms is without doubt a really nice plus! Instructions and communication was clear, no negative point to mention, there was even a small gift waiting for us when we arrived ! Thanks Julie!
— Thibault, 03 Jan 2017
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful villa. There were 10 of us in all between our two families (kids were between ages 1-12) and L'Oiseau Chantant couldn't have been any better. The place was clean, great for our large group, and the pool was great for the kids. We took hikes, rode bikes, visited the hot springs, explored the local village, ate at a Michelin starred restaurant, even saw an old 9th century Abbey, and lots of other things that I've forgotten.

The house is located in an ideal place because you're right in heart of the mountains with the beach only an hour away in Perpignan. We barbequed almost every night while the kids finished up their afternoon pool time. I'd recommend staying for a couple weeks because the house is fully equipped and there's so much to see in the area. There's this great combination of seclusion and opportunities for fun.

Julie was a great host and was easy to stay in touch with even though I didn't have a working phone during our time in France. She was professional but still warm and available.

I'd strongly recommend this place because it played a pivotal role in one of our best family vacations ever.

Studio Mimosa is a modern well-appointed flat perched above the tiny old-world village of Clara, on the slopes of Mt. Canigou. The studio is large, with sleeping, sitting, and kitchen areas, elegantly furnished, with new sheets, towels, ceramic knives, high tech dishwasher and microwave. Care has been taken in every detail to make the guest comfortable and welcome, including a vase of fresh flowers on the table. There are two outdoor terraces, beautifully planted and with very comfortable lounging chairs. We spent hours outside just looking down on the village, listening to the church bells, looking at the mountain, listening to the birds. Up behind the house are terraces, with pergolas, more comfortable chairs, a perfect swimming pool, picnic areas, hammocks, a trail leading to the forest, in which you can walk for hours. The gardens are beautiful and fragrant. The owner is energetically developing the gardens and terraces, so it will probably be even more amazing soon. He even brought us a fresh baguette on Sunday morning. — Sarah and Yossi Halevi, Jerusalem, 04 Sep 2016

Maison Bellevue - Vernet-les-Bains

— Philippe GONCALVES, 21 Aug 2016
I cannot recommend La Bergerie more highly, nor the assistance we received from the property's caretaker, Julie. After following the detailed directions we arrived at the house in Eus and were blown away by the stunning setting, with views across the valley and towards the mountains in one direction then up to the beautiful village above in the other. The house was incredibly well equipped for our party of four adults and five children, especially the kitchen that had every conceivable pot, utensil and modcon you could wish for. The pool was perfect and although not fenced off the alarm system gave us the peace of mind we needed with five children aged from 8 to 16 months. The location is fabulous, with a cafe bistrot and a fantastic tapas restaurant a short walk away up the hill. There is a hypermarket a very short drive away in Prades and lots of interesting places to visit nearby such as Villefranche and the Little Yellow Train. As a keen runner, I was spoilt for choice with the beautiful trails up and around the hills practically on the doorstep. We had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing break and with any luck will be returning in the future. — Sallie Ennis, 16 Jul 2016

Studio apartment in the delightful village of Clara

Simply put this is the cleanest apartment we have stayed in over 20 years of renting. The studio is huge and beautifully furnished and extremely well equipped. The house is situated on the side of a picturesque valley giving us fabulous views over the Pyrenees mountains. We had lovely days out exploring this stunning part of France and even nipped over the border to Spain one day. We were here in June and the weather was great, we sunbathed on our private terrace and cooled off in the pool when we got hot. We wandered around the grounds and sat under the pergola in the evenings with drinks just admiring the views and listening to the frogs and crickets croaking and chirping. Would we come back? recommend it to friends? absolutely!! Thank you for your help in making everything perfect for our wedding anniversary. 5 out of 5 for everything.

My daughter and I stayed in Acacia Apartments. The quality of the apartment was exceptional down to toiletries and dishwasher tablets being provided as well as tea and coffee. The kitchen was equipped to an incredibly high standard too. The views from all aspects were amazing. The grounds are beautifully kept and it was not possible to think of anything we lacked. Even down to the use of a mountain bike if we felt we had the energy! An incredibly relaxing place to stay with an amazing restaurant at the bottom of the drive. Excellent both in terms of the accommodation and the cost. — Rebecca Callow, 23 May 2016
Apartment Le Canigou

Julie and Jonathan are lovely people, and I really enjoyed my stay. The flat is beautifully clean, well equipped, quiet - even though it's quite close to the road, and has a lovely suntrap of a terrace all to itself. It's well placed for public transport, 20 paces to the bus stop, 10 minutes to the train station. So you can travel all over the region, as long as you have your timetables. Julie and Jonathan were extra helpful to try and make me comfortable and happy and just really hospitable.

Le Canigou - Ria Sirach

Everything about this place was great! Julie and her husband are great hosts - very responsive, reliable and friendly. It's in a lovely little village set in beautiful countryside but within easy reach of the larger town of Prades. Public transport is also pretty good round there, and incredibly cheap too. The apartment itself was perfect - well-equipped, clean, and extremely good value.

The house was absolutely lovely and in a peaceful, beautiful location. It was exactly what we needed to get away from the busy city for a long weekend but there were so many fantastic things to do within a 15 minute car journey. Our highlights include the lovely town of Villefranche en Conflent, my walk up to the Abbey of St Martin de Canigou and the refreshing Spa baths at St Thomas les bains.

The house itself has everything you could need and the highlight for us was definitely waking up to the amazing view from the bedroom. Would highly recommend.

Maison Bellvue - Vernet les Bains

We have just spent three great months in this charming house. We are a Canadian family of 4 - we wanted to experience a French village in the mountains during our sabbatical year. We couldn't have asked for a better place to land. Belle Vue is ideally located on a cobblestone road (pedestrians only) - up the hill from the main square (where there are 2 great bakeries, a butcher etc).

Our kids even attended the local school which is also minutes away. A truly great town for kids to run free and explore.

We never tired of the view of pic de Canigou from the main floor balcony. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedrooms are quaintly decorated. Potential renters should know that the rooms are spread out over 4 floors - gives it character - but not ideal if you aren't a fan of stairs.

There are endless gorgeous (and sometimes challenging) hiking trails to explore - literally from the doorstep, awesome Nordic and downhill skiing less than an hour away. There are fun day trips to ocean towns, fortified villages and even Barcelona is a doable side trip. We were here in the off season, which had its advantages (few tourists, had the trails to ourselves etc) but this would be a great stop in the warm, summer months too.

The owners were great to communicate with throughout our time here and quick to help with any issues.

Casa Oreneta - Rodès
The property was really well equipped with comfortable sofas and good outdoor terrace direct from the kitchen. A pity you have to access from the lower ground floor as that can give a poor impression on first arrival. However, once in you use the french doors from sitting area. Everything else more than lived up to expectations. Views were stunning and village delightful.
Rodès is well located for the surrounding area and within easy reach of airports. We drove from Beziers airport in 1 hour 30 minutes. Directions to the property were really good. Will certainly visit again.

Owner reply, Thank you for the lovely comments, as you know you enter the house the first time through the utility room which is quite basic!!

John and I enjoyed our stay here very much, I was very careful in choosing our stays as I wanted in our five short weeks to get a sense of community. Your gite was a good place to have a rest and the view was magnificent. Thank you for your explicit directions regarding arrival, Wifi etc. I have given the plants two lots of water so they should survive. We were able to get to the market and see many of the historical sites, although for such a short time it is never enough. I can imagine this area being great for walkers etc as we both used to belong to a walking group.

Ria-Sirach, apartment Le Canigou

Stayed in the apartment for two weeks May/June 2014 with my mother. Very clean, fully equipped with all the kitchen supplies & useful extras such as organized visitor information, user manuals for electronics, etc. made this place feel like home. The location good- driving distance from the beach, castles, cities & walk-friendly (hikes, bakery) if we didn't feel like getting in the car. We will be back in the future & do recommend it!

Maison Lentilla
Had a lovely week at this pleasant house. A very pretty village with the river below and mountain scenery all around . A well equipped house and comfortable beds. Enjoyed evening drinks on the top floor terrace.

— Mrs.R.Bradbury, 14 Jun 2014
I stayed at Maison Lentilla for 5 nights with friends. It was a home away from home in idyllic settings.
Being a short drive away from the supermarkets and local shops we were able to cook fresh food everyday in the well equipped kitchen.
Thanks to the facilities in the house itself our Ryanair hand luggage really was all that was necessary, I was pleased not to have to pack towels or a hair dryer! All was made easier by knowing there's a washing machine, iron, and the comfort of a decent shower went down a treat after long days in the sun.
Having an outside sun terrace was also brilliant, we ate breakfast there watching the birds every morning.
The village of Finistret itself is beautiful, and we had several picnic lunches by the river and waterfall just down from the house. There's plenty to see and do nearby if you can tear yourself away, I wish we could have stayed for longer to fit it all in.
We will definitely be going back!

Maison Lentilla

Simply STUNNING! This house and village really are the perfect French provincial dream. A peaceful getaway with oodles of charm and rustic elegance combined with everything you need to live the convenience life we are so used to and very reasonable driving distance to anything your heart desires. Whether that be a day at the beautiful beach / lake with stunning views of the mountains or a trip to an ancient town like Villefranche De Conflent which is breathtaking with the most delightful creperie to a walk along the river up to the waterfall to take in the untouched beauty of finestret itself. The House itself is so beautiful and a home away from home. The kitchen is very well equipped indeed as is the rest of the house, all you need is the clothes on your back as everything is provided! I can't recommend it enough. Thank you Maison Lentilla for a perfect holiday!

We have had a wonderful time courtesy of "Maison La Vieille Rose". The house is very, open, spacious and clean with bright airy rooms from which there are wonderful views of the surrounding mountains.

To wake on the first morning and look out over the rooftops towards the snow capped peak of Mt Canigou was an absolute joy. I immediately began to relax.

In a short time we crammed in sunbathing on the beach, walking around the lake, shopping at Prades market, sipping beer in the cafés and watching the world go by. There is so much to see and do in the area.

The aqua-aerobics at the spa hotel in Molitg les Bains followed by a thermal bath and a soak in a relaxing sulphurous pool made me totally relaxed - it was a lovely way to end the trip.

I shall book my next trip on my return home. Next time I look forward to spending 2-3 weeks here!

There are a couple of other villas in the same village (Fuilla), and we were so happy to have chosen L'Oiseau Chantant and booked with Julie. The others looked nice but L'Oiseau Chantant did not disappoint in any department.

On arrival you are greeted by gates, a large pebbled area for up to five cars I would guess, great if travelling in convoy, and a beautifully present villa and garden. There is a stream that runs along the side of the plot, you can hear it as soon as you step out your car, lovely sound.

It's totally safe with no access for children. The villa itself was fantastic, better than the pictures, and everything we had hoped for. It's large, very clean, modern, well furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need.

The garden is private and enclosed. The kids loved the outdoor space and that it wrapped around the villa, great for losing little sisters! They also loved the wildlife they found, lizards and dragonflies mostly. The pool was a great size and well maintained, the pool man came 2 or 3 times a week. It is not heated and quite cold! The kids didn't mind one little bit but for us adults, you had to be brave! Once in though you get used to it, or maybe I was just numb!

There are lots of seating and a great BBQ, cooks to perfection!
There is a friendly bistro about 250m away, very child friendly, no frills but serves good honest food.

The villa is perfectly located for you to explore the surrounding area, it has so much to do and see. About an hour to the beach, Barcelona was just over a 2 hour drive, but worth a day trip.

Overall the villa felt like home for our two weeks in France. It was plenty big enough for our party, and provided very comfortable relaxed accommodation. There was nothing in the villa that was 'precious' so you'd feel on edge with children around, if that makes sense? Family proof I guess. Difficult to fault really, exceeded our expectation. We were very sad to leave.

We stayed at Le Canigo, Ria Sirach apartment and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well equipped & decorated place near Prades. Julie was very friendly and efficient - the booking process, directions and instructions couldn't be better.
The large terrace was great for enjoying the autumn sun and there was no noise from the road. The easy parking, bar/restaurant and mini supermarket within a few paces from the apartment are a real bonus too.
Julie even let us bring our little dog and gave us a much appreciated bottle of wine!

We stayed for three weeks in Casa Oreneta, Rodès - it was fantastic. The house was gorgeous and had everything we needed. The town was picturesque and surrounded by the foothills of the Pyrenees, drystone terraces, rocky gorges and fruit trees. There were day trips to medieval towns (Eus, Ille-sur-Tet, Prades, Villefranche) and catalan restaurants. — Michael, 28 Sep 2013
We rented the Castelnou property (Maison Medieval) for 5 days and I never wanted to leave! The house and village were unbelievably beautiful and the service provided by Julie and Lets Holiday France was brilliant! I would recommend this medieval house for anyone and have recommended the website to friends and family. We were thoroughly overjoyed with the property and would love to stay there again!

My stay in the Le Canigou (Ria-Sirach) apartment was very enjoyable. It was very clean and fully equipped, and was beautifully decorated and it even had English TV, and Wi-Fi which was great.
The sun terrace was lovely to relax on, and the apartment was in a great location to explore the local area.
I would highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Chez Charlotte - Fourques

Dear Julie,

Just a short line to thank you for your assistance over our short rental of the above property.

I am sorry to have needed to contact you, but very grateful for the help you gave which in both cases immediately helped me to resolve things.

My main reason for writing was to say how happy we were with the property. It looked lovely from the photos, and in real life even managed to exceed the expectations we had. I really couldn't fault it, and would highly recommend both the property and the service you provide. Please feel free to use this as a reference for any other customers you have.

We would have no hesitation in booking Chez Charlotte again when we return to Europe, hopefully for longer next time.

Kind Regards,
